Kaiundo

Kaiundo is a Japanese sweets shop founded in 1884 (Meiji 17), a 6-minute walk from JR Matsumoto Station. A wide variety of Japanese sweets, including the popular product "Mamito" Stores that carry it. It's a large store with a beautiful exterior and interior, so you wouldn't think it's a long-established store. While I was at the mercy of a wide variety of sweets, I ended up picking up ``Mamito.'' This sweet, invented in the mid-Taisho period, was used as a tea ceremony sweet at tea parties held in Matsumoto in the early Showa period. It was named ``Mamisto'' by the Urasenke Tandansai master who found it optimal. It is said that it was done. When I first tried it, I noticed that it had a moist, mushy texture, just like Japanese nougat. It's slightly sweet, and the walnuts inside add a nice accent. I was out of matcha, so I had it with hot tea. I tried it and found that it goes really well with tea! A prestigious confection representing Shinshu, one word of excellence. It's a sweet that you don't get to see very often, so it was delicious.

※postscript 2023/11/08 I visited the store for the first time in a while. I went to the cash register to buy true sugar, but the employee was completely unresponsive and didn't see the customer's movements. I was in a hurry, so I left without purchasing. I stopped by again on the way home, but the response was slow, and although I was able to make a purchase, other customers also left without buying. The true sugar had a pretty good taste. *Past articles A robot will make soft serve ice cream. It's clean, safe and secure. Although it is a long-established Japanese confectionery shop, it is a futuristic store with high-tech elements. The children looked like they were having fun.

They sell both Japanese and Western sweets, so I use them when I'm looking for a souvenir. Personally, I like the melt-in-your-mouth texture of Matsumoto Farm Cheesecake♪ The main store has a machine that uses a robot to make soft-serve ice cream, and you can enjoy the fact that the flavors change daily. You can choose the size of the soft-serve ice cream, and the type of cone changes depending on the size. When I went there, I ordered a large size, and it was delicious and crispy in a waffle cone. Not only does it taste delicious, but you can also watch it being made, so both children and adults can enjoy it.

Visit to buy Swan Lake! The guinea cookies crumble as soon as you put them in your mouth, and the scent of cinnamon fills your mouth. If you think about cutting it in half before eating it, you'll be in trouble...😂 In the corner where it was kept, there was also something that looked like a rakugan mold, and I was convinced that it was a Western-style rakugan. The explanation paper that came in the can I bought says that Polporones was invented in a Spanish monastery. There are also sweets like this~ They also sell a variety of sweets, and they all look delicious! The limited time apple dorayaki had homemade apple jam instead of red bean paste and was delicious! The red bean paste dorayaki was at room temperature, but the apple dorayaki was refrigerated, so it was a pity that I couldn't get it as a souvenir...😢 It was quite a walk from Matsumoto Castle, but I wonder if there is a parking lot... It didn't seem like there was much space. If I go again, I would like to buy other sweets! I was curious to see that they also sell apple juice! It looks like delivery is also available 🍎
